Scar Revisions

Scars Can either be cosmetically unacceptable or cause functional changes e.g. when they cause contractures accross a joint. Sometimes they cause problems on both counts.

Contracted scars may need special lengthening manouevres such as Z-plasties and Hypertrophic or Keloid scars may need special management to prevent recurrence of the problem.

 

 

 

 

Generally, Plastic Surgeons are particularly good at revising scars, but the most important part of the treatment, the long- term follow-up relies heavily on patient cooperation and patient compliance.

We can, with your cooperation, nearly always, improve a troublesome scar no matter whether it is small or large.
